Wow! I am glad I am not the only one struggling to manage my online time. It is still fun but can get ahead of you. Greg Swartz did a reassessment in 2006 and found that his family took precedence. That's how I ended up with the COTI. I am not quite so busy as he was, but I find myself making the same value judgements. Sadly my blog ends up suffering the most since I have less time to write the lengthy, quality-rich posts. Oh well. We'll get by. BTW - I use a freeware app called Password Safe to keep all my logins. Has some drawbacks (can't export) but hey, it's free. :-)

From the other side of the Pacific Rim: Good post. I think we each need to rethink what we can handle now and then. Some of us try to help by synthesizing--but at this point, I can't even handle the stuff I want to write about. Ask me next year, and I'll have a different balance: Guaranteed.

Thanks Kathryn,

Pleased to hear that my thoughts gel with someone else. Once we get things back under control, we will be less tired and having a lot more fun again. Looking forward to that day!

Aaa-men!

I'm in a "cutting back" phase also, but really have to think hard about what to trim. It is nice that there are more Australian library bloggers discussiing local issues now.

Are we mugs for spending time trying to keep up, or are people at work who don't take the time the mugs? I dodn't know...I guess it depends whether you aim to be working in the next 10 years, 20 years or 30 years.

I know who is tireder..and having more fun. Not sure if it's compensation.
